Evil Dead 2: New Chapter (2025) brings back the terrifying world of the Evil Dead franchise, but with a fresh new twist on the classic horror story. The film follows a new cast of characters who inadvertently awaken a horrifying evil, once again unleashing the Necronomicon’s dark powers.
The trailer begins with a haunting shot of a group of friends arriving at a remote cabin deep in the woods. Unlike the previous Evil Dead films, this time the cabin has been remodeled as a vacation rental, and the group has no idea of its bloody history. They stumble upon the infamous Necronomicon, the ancient book of the dead, while exploring the surrounding forest. One of the characters, Sarah, begins reading from it out of curiosity, unwittingly unleashing the demonic forces that have been lying dormant.
As the evil spreads, the trailer quickly dives into chaos. The dead begin to rise, and the group is hunted by horrifying, demonic entities that possess their bodies and minds. Unlike past films, Evil Dead 2: New Chapter introduces new and even more grotesque forms of Deadites, with terrifying transformations, intense gore, and mind-bending body horror.
The lead character, Sarah (played by a yet-to-be-revealed actress), takes on the mantle of survival as her friends begin to fall one by one, either killed or possessed. Armed with only her wits, a chainsaw, and an ancient dagger, Sarah fights to stay alive. The film also teases the return of a familiar face—Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) makes a surprise appearance as a guide from beyond the grave, appearing in visions to help Sarah combat the demonic forces.
