JUMANJI 4: Game Over (2025)

The film opens with the original group of friends—Spencer, Martha, Bethany, and Fridge—reuniting after college for a long-overdue catch-up. As they reminisce, Spencer reveals that he’s been feeling lost and disconnected again. Bethany suggests visiting Brantford, the small town where they first discovered the game, hoping it might bring him some clarity.

Upon arriving in Brantford, they decide to visit the old Parrish house, now a museum dedicated to Alan Parrish’s legacy. There, they find something shocking—a hidden, upgraded version of the Jumanji game console. This new version, called Jumanji: Game Over, has a darker, more foreboding design, hinting at greater dangers within.

Despite their hesitation, Spencer, feeling nostalgic and impulsive, decides to activate the game, accidentally pulling everyone back into Jumanji. But this time, things are different. The jungle has become a perilous wasteland, with dark skies and aggressive creatures unlike anything they’ve faced before. The avatars they know so well—Dr. Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Mouse Finbar, and Professor Oberon—have undergone transformations, each with new, unpredictable abilities and weaknesses.

They soon discover that the game has been corrupted by a powerful new villain, Zane, an ex-player who was trapped in Jumanji decades ago. Zane has hacked the game, gaining control over its rules and environment. He plans to escape the game by merging the real world with Jumanji, causing chaos in both.

The group is forced to confront their worst fears and insecurities as Zane manipulates the game to challenge them on a psychological level. They navigate through a series of dangerous quests, from a crumbling temple filled with shifting puzzles to a desert landscape plagued by sandstorms and colossal creatures.

The climax takes place in the heart of Jumanji, where the team confronts Zane in a high-stakes showdown. With teamwork and resilience, they manage to defeat him, but not without significant personal sacrifices. Just when they think they’ve won, Zane’s last words reveal a chilling twist: the game’s boundaries have weakened, and Jumanji’s influence has begun to seep into the real world.

The movie ends with the friends back in Brantford, but ominous signs hint that Jumanji isn’t done with them yet.
