The last time you saw Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), he was used to picking up the phone. Now he’ll be the one making the calls when The Night Agent Season 2 premieres on Jan. 23. The just-released teaser trailer offers a glimpse of all the thrills ahead as Peter finds himself fully immersed in the mysterious world of Night Action, a top-secret organization rife with deadly threats.
“It takes a certain kind of person to succeed as a Night Agent,” Night Agent newcomer Catherine (Amanda Warren) says in the teaser. Will Peter prove himself up to the challenge?
Although you’ll have to wait until this winter to find out, the teaser promises Peter is back in fighting form for Season 2. You can spy the former FBI agent kicking down doors, battling foes, and taking shots when he needs to. All of those skills propelled The Night Agent to success when it launched in 2023; it was the most-watched series that year by views and appeared in the Top 10 in 93 countries.
Creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan said in a statement at the time of the Season 2 renewal, “To see the tremendous reaction to the show has been a great joy and is a credit to our cast, our writers, our directors, our crew and our partners at Sony Pictures Television and Netflix. We couldn’t be any prouder or more excited to get cracking on Season 2 to share the further adventures of Night Action with our newfound fans.”
What is The Night Agent Season 2 about?
Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, the new episodes pick up after the high-octane events of Season 1. Peter’s efforts to save the president were successful, and now he’s earned the opportunity to become a Night Agent. Working in the secretive organization Night Action in Season 2 will push Peter into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply.
