The trailer opens with a breathtaking view of Atlantis, its glowing spires and vibrant marine life radiating peace and prosperity. Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) narrates solemnly:
“Atlantis has always been my home. But even I don’t know all its secrets… and some were meant to stay buried.”
The scene shifts to the ocean’s depths, where an expedition uncovers a fragment of an ancient, glowing trident embedded in volcanic rock. A scientist radios back, “We’ve found it… but something’s moving down here.” The waters turn dark as monstrous, glowing leviathans attack, their roars shaking the screen before cutting to black.
Back in Atlantis, Arthur learns of the discovery from Vulko (Willem Dafoe). “That fragment belongs to the Trident of Eternity,” Vulko explains. “A weapon forged to unite the seas—or destroy them.” Mera (Amber Heard) adds, “If someone completes it, not even Atlantis will survive.”
Cut to Orm (Patrick Wilson), now an uneasy ally, warning Arthur:
“You think ruling Atlantis is hard? Try protecting it from something even the ocean fears.”
The tension rises as a new threat emerges: Queen Arana of the Abyss (Charlize Theron), ruler of a forgotten underwater kingdom. Commanding colossal, bioluminescent sea creatures, she vows, “Atlantis abandoned us. Now, it will pay the price.”
The trailer showcases a series of escalating conflicts:
- Arthur and Orm battling Queen Arana’s forces in breathtaking underwater arenas.
- A massive tsunami striking the surface world, engulfing cities.
- Mera and Vulko deciphering ancient Atlantean texts, revealing that the Trident of Eternity can control not just the oceans but the very balance of Earth’s ecosystems.
The stakes climb higher as Arthur forms an unlikely alliance with Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), who smirks, “Don’t think I’m doing this for you. The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy.”
The trailer crescendos with spectacular visuals:
- Arthur wielding his trident in a desperate battle against Arana atop a crumbling, underwater volcano.
- Queen Arana activating the completed Trident of Eternity, unleashing energy waves that crack the ocean floor and send Atlantis into chaos.
- A cryptic glimpse of an otherworldly underwater city, with Arthur whispering, “This isn’t Atlantis… this is where it all began.”
The trailer ends with Arthur facing Queen Arana, her power at its peak. “You may be king,” she taunts, “but you’ll never be a god.” Arthur retorts, “Then I’ll settle for being a hero.”
