The trailer for Prey 2 begins with a haunting scene of an isolated, mist-covered forest. It’s the early 1800s, somewhere in the American frontier, and the silence is suddenly broken by heavy footsteps and rustling foliage. We see an Indigenous warrior, a descendant of Naru (Amber Midthunder), crouched low, tracking something with skilled precision. A voiceover from a tribal elder echoes, “Our ancestors fought to protect this land from forces beyond our world…”
Quickly, the trailer shifts to action, showing the warrior’s skills as they navigate through dense forests, traversing rivers and mountains, suggesting a tense pursuit. The camera cuts to a group of American settlers and fur traders who are encroaching on Indigenous land. Tensions are high as the warrior warns the settlers of a “hunter from the stars,” but they dismiss it as superstition. Soon, however, they realize the threat is very real as a cloaked Predator observes them from the trees.
The trailer ramps up with shots of the Predator’s advanced weaponry: plasma bolts decimating trees, deadly traps catching the unwary, and its new stealth camouflage blending perfectly with the surroundings. The Predator this time appears upgraded and adapted to Earth’s rugged terrain, equipped with advanced tracking tools and a brutal, spiked gauntlet.
One by one, the settlers and fur traders are taken down, with brutal sequences revealing their panic as they face a force beyond their comprehension. The trailer intercuts scenes of the warrior, armed with a custom-made bow, stealthily evading the Predator’s heat-sensing vision and laying traps of their own. The music crescendos as the warrior, using knowledge of the land, outsmarts the Predator, setting the stage for a climactic face-off.
The final scene shows the Predator unmasked, revealing its monstrous face as it approaches the warrior. The screen cuts to black with the line, “We fight or we fall,” followed by a chilling roar from the Predator.
