The Flintstones (2025) brings the beloved Stone Age family back to the big screen with a modern twist. Directed by a star-studded team and featuring Adam Sandler as Fred Flintstone and Scarlett Johansson as Wilma Flintstone, the film offers a mix of nostalgia, comedy, and heart, taking audiences back to the prehistoric town of Bedrock with plenty of laughs and surprises.
The trailer opens with Fred (Adam Sandler) being his usual, bumbling self, trying to balance his job at the Slate Rock and Gravel Company with his life at home. Wilma (Scarlett Johansson), on the other hand, is portrayed as sharp, caring, and often the voice of reason in the Flintstone household. Early scenes show the iconic Flintstone house, the modern stone-age gadgets, and Fred’s famous “Yabba Dabba Doo!” catchphrase.
The story revolves around Fred’s ambitious plan to enter the Great Rock Race, a competition where racers build their own stone cars and try to win the grand prize: a vacation to the luxurious Rock Vegas. Barney Rubble (Kevin James) joins Fred on this crazy adventure, and the two friends embark on a series of hilarious misadventures trying to prepare for the big race. Meanwhile, Wilma and Betty (voiced by Jennifer Aniston) deal with their own drama, as a wealthy and manipulative socialite, Pearl Slaghoople (played by Cate Blanchett), tries to break up Fred and Wilma’s relationship by tempting Fred with the allure of fame and fortune.
The trailer teases plenty of humor, from prehistoric inventions going wrong to Fred and Barney getting into one absurd situation after another, including being chased by a dinosaur and accidentally stumbling into an ancient tomb. There are also hints of heartfelt moments, particularly between Fred and Wilma as they navigate the challenges of marriage and family.
The climax of the film focuses on the Great Rock Race, where Fred must not only win the race but prove his love and loyalty to Wilma. As with all classic Flintstone tales, expect a happy ending with plenty of laughs, a few life lessons, and a triumphant “Yabba Dabba Doo!”
